In this section you will find our archive of sold antique microscopes, a historical catalogue bringing together some of the microscopy instruments that were previously available at Antiguedades.es and which are now part of private collections, universities, museums, laboratories and scientific institutions. This archive provides an insight into the evolution of some of the most representative microscopes in the history of microscopy.
Among the pieces that have passed through our gallery are monocular microscopes, binocular microscopes, laboratory microscopes, botanical microscopes, dissection microscopes, drum microscopes, Cary-Gould models, petrographic microscopes and other instruments used in scientific research, education, medicine and the natural sciences. Many of these examples retained their original objectives, eyepieces, mirrors, stages, wooden cases, accessories and period documentation.
The archive also includes instruments made by some of the most prestigious manufacturers in the history of scientific optics, including Ernst Leitz Wetzlar, Carl Zeiss, Reichert, Nachet, Smith & Beck, R. & J. Beck, Watson, Ross, Henry Crouch and Bausch & Lomb. These companies made an outstanding contribution to scientific research through the exceptional optical and mechanical quality of their instruments.
This archive should be regarded as a historical catalogue of sold antique microscopes rather than an active sales section. If you would like to browse the pieces currently available, please visit our antique microscopes for sale, where we regularly add carefully selected new instruments.
The microscopes preserved in this archive are a valuable resource for collectors, researchers and historians of science. They make it possible to compare manufacturers, optical systems, materials, focusing mechanisms, accessories and designs that shaped the development of microscopy between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries.
If any of these microscopes serves as a reference for a future acquisition, please feel free to contact us. We will be pleased to let you know whether we have a similar example available or notify you when a related antique microscope is added to our catalogue.
