In this section you will find our archive of sold medals, a historical collection comprising antique medals, military and civilian decorations, orders, crosses, plaques, badges, pins and commemorative medals that were previously available at Antiguedades.es. These pieces represent different countries, institutions, campaigns, historical events, associations and systems of recognition developed throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Sold antique medals and historical archive of decorations

Over the years, numerous medals and decorations from different periods, origins and types have passed through our gallery. Many retained their original ribbons, clasps, cases, enamels, makers’ marks, inscriptions, dates, coats of arms, crowns, emblems and documentation, elements that significantly increase their historical, artistic and collectible interest.

This archive makes it possible to explore the development of military, civilian, religious, sporting and institutional distinctions. Each medal, cross, plaque, badge or order may be associated with a campaign, distinguished service, an institution, a commemoration, a competition or public recognition, becoming a small historical document made of metal.

This archive constitutes a historical catalogue of sold antique medals and not an active sales section. If you would like to see the pieces currently available, you can visit our antique medals and decorations for sale section, where we regularly add carefully selected new examples.

Historical archive of sold medals, orders and decorations

Among the pieces included in this archive are military medals, civilian decorations, crosses, plaques, stars, orders of merit, badges, pins and commemorative or religious medals. There are also examples associated with monarchies, republics, armies, town councils, academies, associations, charitable institutions and professional organisations.

The pieces preserved in this historical archive make it possible to compare countries, manufacturers, materials, grades, designs, iconography and systems of award. They also help to identify differences between commemorative medals, decorations for merit, hierarchical orders, membership badges and distinctions associated with specific events.

Archive of sold medals for reference and collecting

This archive constitutes a useful reference for collectors of militaria, numismatics, orders of merit, political history, civilian institutions and commemorative objects. It also makes it possible to consult coats of arms, portraits, inscriptions, ribbons, enamels and marks that may serve as guidance when identifying or comparing other similar pieces.

If any of the medals or decorations included in this archive serves as a reference for a future acquisition, please contact us. We will be pleased to let you know whether we have a similar example available or notify you when we add a related antique medal or decoration to our catalogue.
