Sold antique wall clocks and historical archive

Over the years, numerous wall clocks from different periods, origins and styles have passed through our gallery. Some stood out for the quality of their movement, case, dial, pendulum or striking mechanism, while others were particularly interesting because of their maker, decoration, condition, rarity or visual presence.

This archive makes it possible to consult clocks made from fine woods, carved, ebonised, lacquered or marquetry-decorated wood, as well as models with enamel dials, brass pendulums, weights, chains, bevelled glass and different striking systems. It also offers a visual reference for European clock mechanisms and styles from the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries.

This archive constitutes a historical catalogue of sold antique wall clocks and not an active sales section. If you would like to see the examples currently available, you can visit our antique wall clocks for sale section, where we regularly add carefully selected new pieces.

Historical archive of sold pendulum, weight-driven and Vienna clocks

Among the clocks included in this archive are pendulum clocks, clocks with one, two or three weights, Vienna regulators, salon clocks, models with hour and half-hour striking, chiming clocks and pieces with additional functions such as calendars, moon phases, seconds hands, thermometers or barometers.

This historical archive also includes French, English, German, Austrian, Swiss and Spanish clocks, with cases, movements and decoration representative of different clockmaking traditions.

Sold bull’s-eye, cuckoo and Black Forest clocks

The archive includes bull’s-eye clocks with oval or circular cases, marquetry, mother-of-pearl, brass and ebonised wood, as well as cuckoo clocks and models from the Black Forest clockmaking tradition.

It also includes shield clocks, or Lackschilduhren, recognisable by their painted or lacquered front plates, visible pendulums and weight-driven mechanisms. Viewing them makes it possible to compare cases, dials, striking mechanisms, movements, makers, patinas, restorations and states of preservation.
