Antique Box-Type Camera. Circa 1920

Antique box-type camera, manufactured circa 1920 and in good condition. The camera is a wooden box lined with black leather on the outside, featuring an original leather handle on top, period lenses, and metal fittings. It is complete and in working order. The exterior covering shows some wear at the corners due to age, which is to be expected given that the camera is nearly a century old. The wooden interior is painted black, with the finish in excellent condition. Box cameras were very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their operation is simple: they feature a meniscus-type front lens (with one concave and one convex surface) that collects light and magnifies the image. This image is projected directly onto the plate or film inside the box.

Nostalgic and authentically vintage, this antique box camera captures all the nostalgia of early-20th-century photography.
