Antique Folding Camera Kodak Vest Pocket Model B. USA 1925–1934
This charming Kodak Vest Pocket Model B, manufactured by Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester (USA) between 1925 and 1934, is one of the most emblematic folding cameras of the interwar period. Designed for type 127 film, it represented the natural continuation of the famous Vest Pocket series that democratized portable photography from the beginning of the twentieth century. With elegant lines and a compact body, this model is covered in embossed black leather with a subtle wave pattern that retains all its original shine and texture.
Unlike earlier versions, the Model B introduced structural improvements that made it more robust and easier to operate. Its fixed Kodak lens, mounted on a precision shutter with T-I exposure selector and two speeds, works perfectly smoothly. The shutter mechanism responds flawlessly and the bellows unfolds firmly, with no cracks or light leaks, a feature increasingly rare in cameras nearly a century old.
This example also preserves a unique detail: an original Kodak roll still installed inside, apparently exposed but undeveloped, a small time capsule that adds a mysterious charm to the piece. As if it still kept within its folds the silent images of a journey, a landscape, or a portrait from the past.
It includes its original metal stylus, with a delicately engraved body, which was used to write notes on the autographic film, an essential and now very rare accessory. No visible defects are present, no dents, no deformations, no significant material loss. Everything works and feels solid, with that artisanal precision that characterizes Kodak mechanisms of the 1920s.
For its pocket size, history, and impeccable preservation, this Vest Pocket Model B is ideal for demanding collectors or for those seeking an authentic piece, with soul, combining historical value and decorative elegance. Its presence in a showcase, library, or studio conveys that unique feeling of when photography was still a slow and almost poetic act.
A collectible piece with its own life, hard to find in this condition and with all its original components. A true jewel of American photographic engineering.

History of the Kodak Vest Pocket Model B
The Kodak Vest Pocket Model B was introduced in 1925 as the natural evolution of the Vest Pocket series, which had revolutionized portable photography since its launch in 1912. After the great success of the Vest Pocket Autographic, Kodak opted for a more modern and practical design while preserving the spirit of portability and reliability that had made it famous.
The Model B used No. 127 roll film, producing negatives of 4×6.5 cm, a very popular format in amateur photography of the 1920s and 1930s. Its simplicity made it a regular companion for trips and family gatherings. Moreover, its compact size, which truly fit in a vest pocket, made it an icon of the era, a symbol of modernity and visual freedom.
These cameras were silent witnesses of the interwar period and the early years of Kodak’s global expansion. At a time when images began to be part of everyday life, the Vest Pocket Model B became the bridge between professional photography and the domestic pleasure of capturing memories. Today it is considered one of the most balanced pieces in the Kodak collection for its design, functionality, and historical value.
