Stunning Oil on Panel. Copy of Prince Baltasar Carlos on Horseback by Velázquez. Spain, 1950s
Fantastic oil painting on panel from the 1950s. It is a spectacular copy of the famous painting Prince Baltasar Carlos on Horseback, painted by Diego de Velázquez and currently housed at the Prado Museum. The painting is in perfect condition; it is a unique, masterfully executed copy created by a talented, unknown artist. This painting comes framed and ready to hang, and is perfect for adding a touch of history and personality to a living room with an aristocratic flair.
The oil painting is hand-painted with the utmost care and skill. The artist has skillfully captured the transparency of the colors characteristic of the great Spanish mastertransparencies that are perfectly evident in the landscape glimpsed in the background of the painting. The figure of the prince stands out for the magnificent rendering of his garments and golden accessories, as well as for the delicacy of his face and hands. The horse exhibits the well-known distortion that also appears in the original canvas: Velázquez painted it this way because it was intended to be hung high on the wall. Viewed from below, the image of the horse is much more accurate and realistic.
This impressive oil on panel, a copy of the portrait Prince Baltasar Carlos on Horseback, is ideal for anyone who doesnt have a few million euros to hang an original Velázquez in their home.
