Antique French pocket knife by Girodias, 30 cm long and made in Thiers, France, in the 19th century. This is an exceptional piece due to its beauty, excellent condition, and considerable age. On the blade, we can see the manufacturers mark in capital letters, GIRODIAS, accompanied by a logo resembling a lantern. This mark dates back to 1889, when Juan Bautista Girodias Chavral and his son Pedro Luis applied to register the trademark in Spain. The handle features the classic horn and brass scales commonly found on this type of cutlery. Two of the horn scales are decorated with beautiful, delicate, and elegant hand-carved plant motifs. The horn scales are separated by brass elements; the end of the handle features a finial composed of several circles. The blade is of the clip point type (notched tip) and is in very good condition, with hardly any signs of wear.
