Availability date:
Vintage pendant with enamel depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child, mounted in 18K gold and decorated with faceted crystals in different colors. The enamel shows the Virgin in a maternal attitude, holding the Child in her arms in a close and affectionate composition. The scene conveys a sense of intimacy, with both faces close together and a serene expression. The chromatic contrasts in the garments stand out, intense greens, deep blues and pink tones, which bring vibrancy and volume to the image. The dark background reinforces the figures and focuses attention on the group.
The contour is resolved by a ring of 18K yellow gold that frames the scene without overloading it. At the top, the pendant is finished with a rectangular faceted blue crystal, while at the bottom three additional crystals, pink, red and green, are arranged, visually balancing the piece and adding a decorative character. The suspension system is located behind the upper crystal, allowing the chain to pass through discreetly. The back is closed and protected with a black velvet lining, which reinforces the structure and protects the enamel. No visible hallmarks are observed, although the gold has been acid tested as 18K.
The condition is very good. The enamel shows no visible losses or damage affecting the scene. The crystals are well set and in good overall condition. The piece is ready for use. It is a pendant with a clear religious character, but also of interest as a vintage jewel due to its composition, its color and its presence.
