Availability date:
Vintage pendant with enamel depicting Our Lady of the Forsaken, mounted in 18K gold and accompanied at the lower part by a small bell also in gold. The enamel shows the Virgin in her characteristic triangular form, richly ornamented and placed on a pedestal, surrounded by several figures in an attitude of veneration. In the scene, there are figures dressed in light robes, childlike or youthful figures in devotional poses, some holding musical instruments, which adds dynamism and a more narrative context to the representation. The whole maintains good definition, with a soft palette dominated by white, golden and green tones, and with very fine details.
The frame is made of 18K yellow gold, simple and functional, focused on protecting and highlighting the enamel without interfering with its reading. At the top is the loop for the chain. At the bottom hangs a small gold bell, an unusual detail that adds movement and a more distinctive character to the piece. The back is closed and protected with a black velvet lining, which helps preserve the enamel and provides a solid structure to the whole. No visible hallmarks are observed, although the gold has been acid tested as 18K.
The condition is very good. The enamel shows no visible losses or relevant damage. The bell is well preserved and firmly attached. The piece is ready for use. It is a pendant with a marked religious character and a very specific iconography, which gives it additional interest both on a devotional level and within Spanish vintage jewelry.
