Beautiful French bronze clock garniture. This set is made of bronze and dates from the late 19th century. It is a stunning table clock; in addition to being in magnificent condition, the clock also works as well as it did on the first day. It is accompanied by two symmetrical decorative elements, designed to be placed on either side of the clock to complete a sumptuous and very attractive set. All three pieces are delicately carved with a profusion of decorative details and are also in very good condition. The clock's mechanism has been serviced and adjusted; it retains its original key and is signed.

The clock is shaped like an urn and is flanked by two stylized handles, which lend it a harmonious and attractive appearance. Hanging from both handles are two decorative shield-shaped ornaments made of bronze. The entire surface of the clock is decorated with motifs carved into the metal or rendered in relief, featuring classical-style plant motifs. The base rests on four legs decorated with women's faces. Overall, the clock's silhouette is inspired by that of ancient urns, similar to those depicted in classical art of the Pompeian style. The two pieces accompanying the clock are similar in shape and decoration.

The Paris movement has an 8-day power reserve and strikes the hours and half-hours. The movement and the pendulum share the same serial number: 2443. Above the number is the manufacturer's stamped signature: A.D. MOUGIN - DEUX MEDAILLES. A.D. Mougin was a prestigious clock movement manufacturer based in Hérimoncourt, France, who worked in partnership with Japy, Marti, and Roux in the late 19th century. His circular stamp, featuring a five-pointed star and the inscription "Deux Medailles" (two medals), is well known in the field of horology.
