Important Junghans Table Clock Manufactured Circa 1890. In Excellent Condition and Working

Large German Junghans table clock, manufactured in the late 19th century (circa 1890) for export. This beautiful clock stands out for its impressive size and the magnificent condition in which it remains. The clock has a long-lasting wind-up mechanism and strikes the half-hours and hours, appearing just as beautiful as when it was manufactured over a hundred years ago. The case is made of solid, turned, and carved wood, with many parts crafted from genuine mahogany. The wood displays a beautiful reddish-gold color, with varying shades ranging from maroon to ochre. All parts are perfectly preserved, with no areas of deterioration or missing pieces.

The clock is made by Junghans, whose full company name is Junghans Uhren GmbH and which is today considered Germany's leading clock manufacturer. Located in Schramberg (Baden-Württemberg), it was founded in 1861 by Erhard Junghans together with his brother-in-law Jakob Zeller-Tobler, and was then known as Junghans und Tobler. We know this is a Junghans clock because when we open the back cover of the case, we can see an embossed design on the movement depicting two crossed arrows-the company's logo. This particular clock was manufactured for export. The movement is made of brass and iron and works very well, just like it did on the first day. Inside the back cover is a paper label bearing the number 3104.

The case's decoration is understated and elegant, featuring fluted columns on both sides and turned details crowning the top of the clock. The cover protecting the dial is made of beveled glass and remains intact. The dial itself is very beautiful, crafted from gold-plated metal with engraved brass details and a circular silver-plated metal ring, against which the decorative black Arabic numerals stand out. The hands are also black, very simple in design, and feature a delicate openwork pattern at the tips. Overall, this clock is a splendid piece due to its age, its smooth operation, and its beautiful design. It will undoubtedly be the centerpiece of any room, standing out above the rest of the decor.
