German Otto Seibert Microscope from 1920. In Excellent Condition and Working Order

This spectacular piece is an antique professional microscope manufactured in 1920 by the German firm Otto Seibert of Wetzlar. It is a 100% original item, complete with all its parts, and comes in its original wooden case. The microscope works perfectly and is also in nearly impeccable condition. The only sign of its age is a slight scratch on the black lacquer on the right side, located on the turret next to one of the focus adjustment screws (photo 39). Otherwise, the instrument is as beautiful and functional as when it was manufactured, retaining all its original components.

The microscope features a glossy black enameled metal frame, with moving parts made of brass and silver-plated metal. It is equipped with a four-lens revolver, all manufactured by Otto Seibert Wetzlar, a leading name in the field of optical equipment manufacturing. This German company still exists today as Seibert Otto Wetzlar GmbH & Co. KG. The company's name can be seen on the data label located on the door of the wooden case, and it is also engraved on each of the lenses in the revolver.

This fantastic instrument and its accessories are presented, as mentioned, in their original solid wood case. The wood is very light in color, and the pieces are joined using extremely fine dovetail joints. The case retains its original lock and key, both in perfect working order. Inside, it houses several movable parts, also made of wood: a board that holds the microscope's base, two separate wooden structures where the eyepieces and lenses fit into their metal sleeves, and a box with a sliding lid for storing cleaning supplies and other accessories.

Complete and exceptionally beautiful, this microscope from the 1920s is a piece worthy of a museum of science-related antiques.
