Important German Busch Microscope. Very Well Preserved. Circa 1915, in Perfect Working Order

Spectacular large-scale microscope manufactured in Germany in the first decade of the 20th century, circa 1915. This is an exceptional instrument, both for its excellent condition and functionality and for the complete set of accessories that accompanies it. It is striking how well-preserved the clear varnish protecting the brass is: it shows only very slight signs of aging in a few specific areas, which do not affect the metal. This detail does not interfere with the instrument's operation or its impressive appearance; rather, it is an attractive sign of the piece's age and authenticity. The microscope has a matte black iron base and an upper section consisting of movable parts made of polished brass.

This instrument was manufactured by the Busch company, founded by Hans Busch (1884-1873), a German physicist considered the "father" of the electron microscope. On the tower, we can see the name BUSCH engraved on the metal, followed by the word Rathenow and the serial number 13778. Rathenow is a German town with a long tradition of microscope manufacturing, an industry that emerged in the 17th century and remains active today. The Busch factory, located in this town, continued to operate after the death of its founder. After World War II, the East German government took over the factory, and it became publicly owned. Over time, it changed its name several times. For thirty years, the factory supplied components to the Carl Zeiss Jena factory located in East Germany.

The microscope features a three-lens revolver, all of which are signed by Busch with the elegant script of the logo. It retains all of its original parts and components in exceptional working condition, making it a true pleasure to work with this instrument. The microscope comes with a complete set of accessories: lenses in their cases, eyepieces... All of this is presented in the original solid oak case, which is magnificently preserved and includes the original lock and key. Inside the case, there is also a sheet of paper with details about the eyepieces, and another handwritten note in pencil with information on magnifications and lenses.

The impressive appearance of this microscope, its age, and its excellent condition make it a unique piece, worthy of a museum or a major collection.
