Beautiful Steindorff microscope from Germany, manufactured in Berlin in the 1920s. This instrument is in good working condition. The microscope has a base and supporting structure made of black enameled iron. The moving parts are made of gold-plated brass and chrome-plated metal. The microscope features a three-lens revolver, all of which are fully functional. All parts and components are original, except for the case, and work very well. Engraved on the microscope's turret is the manufacturer's name and the city where the company was located: Steindorff & Co. - Berlin. Below this inscription is the instrument's serial number: 50185.

The firm Steindorff & Co. was dedicated to the manufacture of microscopes and scientific instruments for over a hundred years. It was founded in Berlin in 1879 by Emil Steindorff, and in 1915 his brother Otto also became a co-owner. After years of development and evolution, the company's headquarters were destroyed during World War II, but the firm nevertheless continued its operations. In 1951, a subsidiary was established in the United States to distribute Steindorff microscopes in North America. After nearly a hundred years of success, Steindorff & Co. went bankrupt in 1986.

This particular microscope comes in a plywood case with a flexible handle and a key lock. Although the case is not the original, it is very practical for storing and transporting the instrument. It is in good condition, with the hinges in perfect working order and the exterior protected by a glossy, transparent varnish. Furthermore, the lock works perfectly. Inside the case, there is also a small plywood support designed to hold two of the lenses. The microscope's three lenses come with their corresponding protective metal cases.
