Stunning antique microscope in very good condition and in good working order, manufactured in the early 20th century by the prestigious German brand E. Leitz Wetzlar. The instrument dates from 1912 and is a model of great beauty, intended for professional use. It comes in its original beechwood case and is accompanied by an extensive set of accessories and lenses, preserved in delicate boxes and holders. One of the most interesting features of this microscope is the micrometric adjustment system on the specimen stage-a very special detail in perfect working order.

Engraved on the instrument's turret is the manufacturer's name, E. Leitz Wetzlar. Below the inscription is the microscope's serial number: No. 155245. The original company was founded by Karl Kellner in 1849 under the name Wetzlar Optical Institute, primarily for the manufacture of telescopes. Before long, microscopes became the brand's "flagship product." In 1865, Ernst Leitz joined the company; he was an outstanding engineer who took control in 1869 and renamed the factory the Ernst Leitz Optical Institute of Wetzlar. The brand marketed magnificent microscopes such as the one in question here, and was also responsible for launching the famous Leica cameras.

The microscope in question features a bird-claw foot, also known as a "horseshoe" base. It is made of cast iron and retains its black enamel finish in very good condition. The moving parts and components, made of chrome-plated metal and gold-plated brass, are also very well preserved and fully functional. The case, meanwhile, is complete and in good condition, with the original metal handle and key lock. Inside, a label indicates that the microscope was last serviced in 1943. The label also details the specifications of the three lenses that make up the microscope's revolver.
