Magnificent Antique W. Johnson & Son's Microscope. England, Circa 1900. With original case

A beautiful, very old microscope in working condition. This instrument was manufactured in England circa 1900 and has come down to us in very good condition. The item is very complete, presented in its original wooden case with all its accessories. The microscope works well and can be used to examine specimens. All its parts are original, as are the black enamel finish on the base and the protective clear lacquer coating the brass parts.

The microscope features a two-lens revolver and an original period-correct oscillating mirror. Engraved on the cast-iron base is the manufacturer's name: W. JOHNSON & SON'S - LONDON, and the serial number 999. The same name is engraved on the lenses, which can be stored in their corresponding brass cases. These cases feature the manufacturer's name and the size of each objective lens (in inches) engraved on the lids in elegant cursive script. Both the lenses with their cases and the eyepiece are stored on a wooden stand located to the right of the microscope case.

Inside the case, there is also a small wooden drawer designed to hold the slides with the specimens. Inside, we find some original slides, as well as unused slides. The case in which the microscope is stored is made of solid mahogany, with a beautiful reddish color and its original finish. The case retains its lock and key, both in perfect working order, as well as the top handle designed for transporting the instrument.

Its beautiful design and excellent condition make this exquisite antique microscope a coveted item for the most discerning collectors.
