This beautiful and simple microscope is a true museum piece due to its delicacy, age, and excellent condition. It was made in England in the late 19th century (circa 1870) and comes in its original side-opening case, which is in very good condition. The microscope works well and is accompanied by several accessories, also original. Among them is a piece known as a "life box," designed to hold live specimens for observation. It is a cylindrical accessory with an elongated base and a glass lid that attaches to the specimen stage, just below the objective lens.

The microscope is well-preserved, with its brass surface showing the natural signs of aging. This detail adds character and authenticity to the instrument, which still retains some of its original clear protective lacquer. The item comes with an extra lens and two brass caps for both objectives. Additionally, it can be disassembled into individual parts so it fits perfectly inside the case.

In addition to the lenses and the "life box," the accessory set also includes brass tweezers and a small wooden box containing original specimens mounted on glass slides. All these items are perfectly organized inside the wooden case, which features holders for each and every piece. The case itself is made of solid mahogany and is handcrafted, with beautiful dovetail joints at the corners. It retains the original brass handle, lock, and key, all of which work perfectly.
