Antique Black Powder Horn, Powder Flask, in Silver and Brass. Early 19th Century

Antique black powder horn or powder flask in silver and brass, made in the early 19th century or later and in very good condition. The horn is natural, a very dark brown colour, and stands out for its beautiful decoration of solid silver and brass appliqués that cover it almost entirely. On the front of the powder horn, the metal coverings are fully decorated with Mudejar-inspired embossed details, executed with the utmost precision and great delicacy. On the back, the powder horn is lined solely with smooth brass sheets, without any silver details or embossed decoration. The item is almost complete: the only missing part is the cap. The rest, including the beautiful brass rings to which the cord is tied, are original.

This fascinating antique black powder horn is a true collectors item, of great beauty and richly decorated.
