Complete Lot of 100 Stereoscopic Glass Plates. 45x107. France, Early 20th Century

Interesting lot of 100 developed stereoscopic glass plates featuring images of landscapes and families. All in good condition. This is a very attractive collection presented in its original period cardboard boxes, marked with handwritten labels. The plates originate from France and were developed in the early 20th century. They feature a variety of images that appear to be vacation and/or travel souvenirs: rural and countryside landscapes, gardens and stately buildings, monuments, snow-covered scenes Some snapshots show family groups and people engaged in specific activities, such as a woman dressed in the fashion of the era stroking a cow. Some images are in black and white, while others are in attractive sepia tones, and all possess the undeniable charm of early-20th-century photographs. The plates bear inscriptions with the name of the photo lab (Verascope Richard) and handwritten details including the name of the location depicted and, in some cases, the year the photograph was taken.
