A rare collection of 12 vintage autochromes on glass, in good condition and original to the period. The autochromes are dated to various years between 1910 and 1936. They originate from France, and some are hand-labeled with the name of the location photographed and, in certain cases, the date as well. Autochromes are stereoscopic glass plates, hand-colored using a system developed and patented by the Lumière Brothers in 1903. This technique produces surprisingly realistic color images, with tonal gradations and colors of great authenticity. These autochromes clearly demonstrate this: they feature images of parks and gardens that capture the subtle hues of flowers, fields, and trees They are rare and highly sought-after pieces, full of nostalgia and charm.

Given their quality and beauty, these rare autochromes deserve a place in the collection of a major photography museum.
