Attractive Lot of 100 45 x 107 Stereoscopic Glass Plates. France, Early 20th Century
Fascinating lot of 100 developed stereoscopic glass plates, from France and dating from the early 20th century. The lot consists of six cardboard boxes containing the plates grouped by set. The images are in black and white and sepia tones, depicting landscapes, scenes, and monuments from iconic locations. They are numbered and accompanied by three lists in French describing what appears in each photograph: in Lourdes, in Paris at night, and at the Palace of Versailles. There is also a set of images of Alpine landscapes. The plates are in very good condition and can be easily viewed with a stereoscope. The boxes in which they are stored are the originals and are in excellent condition, with handwritten labels describing the contents in French.
These early 20th-century stereoscopic plates are a real find for fans of vintage photography.
