French Collection of 24 Stereoscopic Glass Plates, 6 x 13, from World War I

An impressive collection of twenty-four photographic images on stereoscopic glass plates, measuring 6 x 13 cm, featuring scenes from World War I. The collection is presented in its original cardboard case and is in good condition. It consists of twenty-four glass plates with images in nostalgic sepia tones, intended to be viewed through a stereoscope. When viewed through a stereoscope, the two images on each slide merge into an optical illusion that allows the viewer to see the scene in three dimensions.

The collection includes images of soldiers in the trenches, as well as prisoner convoys, routes across the battlefield, river navigation, and even the water landing of a seaplane. Each plate is hand-labeled with an inscription in French indicating the location and year the photograph was taken, as well as the event depicted.
