Extremely Rare Collection of 98 Erotic Photographs. 45 x 107. Jules Richard, France 1905

Extremely rare collection of 98 erotic stereoscopic photographs on glass plates, measuring 45 x 107 cm, created by Jules Richard. This collection, consisting of two complete sets of 50 stereoscopic views, is of immense interest to collectors of art and erotic photography due to its high quality and historical significance. The collection includes two plates that do not depict sensual scenes; it is believed they were added to the collection to complete the set. The photographs are in very good condition, perfect for viewing.

The images depict scenes in sepia tones, featuring women posing nude, either individually or in groups. Most are classically inspired and show the models in Greek or Roman-style settings, with statues or columns modeled after ancient artifacts. In some of the plates, the models appear in romantic settings: dressing tables, bathrooms, as well as outdoors in rural settings. All the plates are unique and depict different settings and poses. The storage cases are made of light-colored wood and show signs of woodworm damage.

This collection of 98 erotic optical photos on glass plates measuring 45 x 107 cm is one of the earliest visual records of eroticisma true gem for any collector. These plates are sold separately on eBay for between 25 and 50 euros each, if they can be found. It is very difficult to assemble a complete collection, as they rarely come up for sale.

The Story of Jules Richard

Jules Richard was born in 1848. He was a famous French engineer and inventor, renowned for being one of the pioneers of photography. His father, Félix, invented the first metal barometer in Paris and started the family business. Upon his death in 1876, the company was practically bankrupt: Jules took control and, in 1880, patented a recording barometer that became enormously popular. In the years that followed, the company expanded its production and went on to achieve considerable success. During this time, Richard developed a keen interest in stereoscopic photography, going on to design such famous cameras as the Verascope model.
