Antique American pocket watch manufactured by the Hampden Watch Company in 1889. The watch is in impeccable condition and is made of gold-plated metal, featuring beautiful engravings all over its exterior. The New York Watch Company was founded by Donald J. Mozart and Samuel Rice in 1864 in Providence, Rhode Island, and in 1877 changed its name to the Hampden Watch Company. By then, the factory had moved to Springfield, Massachusetts, and in 1888, John C. Dueber purchased the company and relocated it to Canton, Ohio. The company underwent several sales, bankruptcies, and changes in location until it was finally acquired in 1927 by Amtorg, a Russian company. The brand's trail was then lost, although a professor at New York University reported the use of Dueber-Hampden machinery in China in 1986.

The watch in question is very old, but it has been preserved in excellent condition and is as beautiful and functional as it was on the first day. Its front and back covers feature delicate engravings depicting an idyllic landscape with two houses surrounded by architectural and floral motifs. On the back cover, in place of the landscape, there is a space reserved for engraving the owner's initials, where we can see two elegant initials: KM. Beneath the front cover lies the watch face-sleek and elegant, with a white background and stylized Roman numerals. The dial is magnificently preserved and features a seconds hand; the straight, blue-enameled hands are particularly striking.

On the inside of the front cover is a logo depicting a scale topped by a crown. Below this motif is the watch's serial number: 1699452. The logo and number are engraved again on the inner surface of the back cover, while inside the dust cover we see the serial number and another stamp, this time in the shape of a weight and bearing the acronym CO. A "6" also appears below the serial number. The movement is beautifully crafted and signed; engraved on it are the inscriptions "THE DUEBER WATCH CO. - PA'T PINION - CANTON, OHIO." It also bears an engraved serial number: 563997.

This stunning watch is as historic as it is elegant. Its excellent condition makes it a first-class piece that will be a source of pride for its owner.
