German Silver Watch, ca. 1900

Exquisite Solid Silver German Pocket Watch, Circa 1900. In Very Good Condition and in Working Order

A beautiful solid silver pocket watch manufactured in Germany in the early 20th century. It is a very refined and elegant piece, whose simple design further enhances its beauty. The silver appears in two tones: the natural color of the metal and an attractive golden hue. The watch is in excellent condition and works perfectly, having been carefully inspected and adjusted.

The watch face, which can be viewed by lifting the front glass cover, is white and features Roman numerals for the hours. The minutes are arranged in a circle around the hour markers and are Arabic numerals. The dial features a seconds hand. Although generally well-preserved, the porcelain has a small chip at the 2 o'clock position. The fluted crown used to wind the watch provides an attractive contrast to the rest of the pieces, as it is made of yellow-toned gold-plated silver, while the other gold-plated parts are rose-colored.

The back cover of the watch is decorated with an engraved net- or mesh-like pattern, which is very characteristic of this type of piece. In the center, a plain coat of arms awaits engraving with the watch owner's initials. Inside the case back, several inscriptions and hallmarks are engraved; among them, we can make out the serial number 10266.1. A name and a date are also engraved: OZWALD BERNE - 1904. Inside the dust cover-on the front of which the number of jewels in the watch (6) is indicated-we again find the hallmarks and the serial number, while the movement features beautiful engravings, notably a logo with an "S."

Without a doubt, this is a beautiful and elegant timepiece that functions flawlessly.
