Beautiful Vintage Philips 736A Tube Radio from 1934. In working condition

Beautiful vintage tube radio manufactured in 1934 from mahogany. The radio is the Philips 736A model. It is a very beautiful and decorative radio, thanks to its classic Art Deco design and the beautiful mahogany wood from which it is made. The wood features a lovely combination of grains running in different directions. It also features elegant wood inlays (marquetry) adorning the front and sides. These details are complemented by the openwork motif of the speaker grille, located at the top front; it is square in shape with slightly curved sides.

This radio works perfectly at 220V, which is another attractive feature. The wood's original finish is in excellent condition, and the two Bakelite knobs at the bottom of the front panel (used to operate the radio) show no signs of wear or breakage. The components of the radio's internal mechanism are original Philips parts, which adds to its appeal.

The radio's style is classic 1930s. It features an Art Deco design with the characteristic straight, understated lines of that style. On the back, the radio has a gray plywood panel that can be removed to access the mechanism. The panel features explanatory diagrams of the radio's various connections and jacks, printed in white. It also has an opening through which a metal plate is visible, bearing the brand name PHILIPS, the model number (736A), and the radio's serial number (No. 7009).

All these details make this beautiful vintage radio a highly decorative piece, whose beauty and age are more than enough reason to display it in the most elegant living room or study.
