Spanish AEG Tube Radio. 1940s. Operates on 125V. Includes 125-220V transformer

This AEG tube radio model is characteristic of the era in which it was made: the 1940s. It is a beautiful Spanish radio with the classic aesthetic of radios from that era, combining beauty with vintage charm. The radio is rectangular in shape and made of plywood with an exterior finish of walnut veneer. The front panel is made of solid walnut and is surrounded by a cream-lacquered, molded frame.

At the top of the front panel is the square opening for the speaker, covered by classic silk fabric resembling burlap. The radio also features a large dial on which you can make out the names of the countries whose stations can be tuned in. Just below the dial is the AEG logo. The front panel also features Bakelite controls and a glass-covered "peephole."

The back of the radio has been completely restored. It can be removed to access the internal mechanism and features an opening through which a metal plate with information about the device is visible. The plate lists the company name (AEG Ibérica de Electricidad SA, Madrid), the approval number (3A), the serial number (56370), and the number of valves (5). The radio works perfectly at 125 V and includes a free 125-220 V transformer so it can be connected to today's electrical grid.
