Vintage PYE Model 350 Radio with Period Speaker. England, 1928
A wonderful vintage tube radio from PYE, Model 350, with a top-mounted speaker in good condition. The radio is an original from the early 20th century, having been manufactured in England in 1928. Despite its age, it works very well and retains all its original parts. The speaker comes from North America and is the perfect complement to the radio: it dates from the same era and works well, allowing you to listen to broadcasts with complete clarity. The radio features a beautiful Art Deco-inspired design and has a methacrylate back panel that allows you to see the inner workings of the mechanism and the tubes.
The radios cabinet is made of solid light mahogany. The lower part of the front panel is die-cut and covered with dark brown fabric. At the top is the control panel, made of dark brown Bakelite. It features two dials, a switch, a knob for selecting stations, and another for adjusting the volume. The manufacturers logo, PYE, is also visible. As for the speaker, it is an impressive octagonal wooden model covered in off-white fabric, in magnificent condition. The wood on the radio and speaker is in very good condition and retains its original smooth, satin finish.
The striking design of this vintage Pye radio makes it a truly unique piece that surprises with its excellent sound quality.
