Antique artillery officers sabre made in Spain circa 1842, in excellent condition. This is a relatively rare weapon; according to the treatise *Spanish Military and Civil Swords from the 16th to the 20th Century*, it is believed that this sabre filled, to some extent, the gap experienced by artillery officers until the arrival in 1862 of their first regulation model, since the model that appeared in 1855 was intended exclusively for the mounted artillery brigade. The sabre stands out for its beautyparticularly the design of the hiltand for its impressive condition. The blade is made of steel and is polished to a brilliant sheen, while the hilt features a brass guard in excellent condition. The guard divides into three quillons that meet the crossguard, creating a beautiful design. The grip retains its dark brown leather covering and the original wire binding in nearly impeccable condition.
