Attractive Model 1882 cavalry officers sabre, manufactured in France and in good condition. The sword is not its original length: the blade was shortened, likely to make the sword easier to carry and wield. Even so, the steel blade is in very good condition, and the sword retains balanced proportions and a design with great decorative potential. The hilt features a curved brass guard with three quillons and a solid-wood grip divided into ridges. The pommel features a hand-engraved floral border along the edge of the metala subtle detail that lends the design a very special charm.

This beautiful Model 1882 cavalry officers sabre is an original period piece in good condition. A collectors item worthy of taking centre stage in any setting.
