Vintage Danish KTAS Telephone. In Perfect Working Order. Denmark, 1920s

Vintage Danish KTAS telephone in perfect working order, manufactured in Denmark in the 1920s and highly decorative. This is an original vintage piece, very well preserved, and can still be used to make and receive calls when connected to an analog line. It is not compatible with digital lines, although there are tone-to-pulse converters available that allow older models to be adapted to modern lines. The phone features a chrome-plated metal body and a black Bakelite handset and base, both in very good condition.

The wiring and the cord connecting the base to the handset are original period pieces and are superbly preserved, as are the cradle where the handset is placed and the dial. The telephone is made by the Danish brand KTAS, a telecommunications company that continues to provide services in the country today. The company sold models manufactured by other brands, such as the famous Bell Telephone Company and its European subsidiaries. It was founded in 1882 with funding from Carl Friederick Tietgen. The brand name is visible in the center of the dial plate, in clear white letters on a black background.

Above the rosette are two small windows; the one on the right is closed, but the one on the left reveals numbered cylinders that are part of an untested pulse counter. The chrome-plated metal body appears smooth and shiny, with no dents, scratches, or visible damage. The same can be said of the handset and the base, which show some minor, insignificant signs of use; these signs, moreover, are part of the phones history and attest to its age and use.

As decorative as it is authentic, this vintage Danish KTAS telephone in perfect working condition will stand out as an exceptional decorative piece.
