Asian Brass Incense Burner or Urn, Circa 1900. Hand-Carved and in Good Condition

A decorative and stylized Asian incense burner, designed for burning incense to fragrance spaces and rooms. This beautiful, functional, and very attractive object is made of polished brass and is in good condition. The item dates from the early 20th century (circa 1900).

As mentioned, the piece is made of polished brass. The metal is in very good condition and has survived to the present day in excellent shape. The item features delicate engraving on the metal, concentrated on the upper bowl and the handles. The rounded shape of the vessel allowed the artist who carved the metal to showcase his artistry in a beautiful motif very much in the Eastern style, depicting a branch of a cherry tree in bloom with a bird perched on it, turning its head to look at another similar bird flying toward it. The piece possesses all the charm and delicacy of classic naturalistic representations in Eastern art.
