Beautiful Chinese Porcelain Vase, Hand-Painted with a Naturalistic Scene. Jiaqing Mark

This elegant Chinese porcelain vase has survived to the present day in perfect condition, with no damage or cracks, and its beautiful naturalistic decoration is as vivid and brilliant as when it was first created. The vase has a slender silhouette and displays an attractive balance of proportions, with a wider mouth and a stable base. Against the white surface, it features exquisite decoration executed with a profusion of colors and fine lines, depicting a naturalistic scene in which plants and animals take center stage. Overall, the scene is full of charm and reveals the skilled hand of an excellent artist with a mastery of color.

The scene depicts twisted tree trunks emerging from the ground, their branches laden with large, deep pink fruits. The branches also bear delicate leaves in various shades of green, and perched on one of them is a beautiful white bird with a long tail. Rising from the ground to the left of the tree trunks stands another plant with a large white and pink flower, and another one ready to bloom. To the right, we see another branch topped by a red flower, and just below it, standing on the grass, is a charming deer holding a red flower in its mouth. The composition is full of color and charm, forming a typically Eastern scene with great decorative potential.

On the back of the vase, as is customary, the white porcelain is virtually free of decorative motifs, with the exception of two red bats. The presence of these animals is common on this type of porcelain piece, as they symbolize good fortune in Chinese tradition. Additionally, on the base of the vase, we find the Jiaqing mark (1796-1820) in red, clearly inscribed on the surface. Jiaqing was the fifth emperor of China and the seventh of the Qing Dynasty.
