A curious and attractive silver-plated Oriental vase or planter dating from the 19th century. Several aspects stand out in this piece: on the one hand, its large size; and on the other, its intricate and original design. The vase features two large, symmetrical handles and was most likely intended to serve as a planter, given its large size. It is a very well-preserved piece. It retains all its original parts and is just as decorative as when it was first made, retaining an undeniable charm that makes it the perfect piece to adorn a bright and elegant living room.

In terms of its decoration, this vase is a rather intricate piece. It has a round base and mouth that are narrower than the body, which features a domed central section. The base is a delicate filigree whose shape is reminiscent of oriental latticework; on it, we see a series of fine plant motifs carved into the metal. The mouth has a thicker rim, also adorned with engraved vine leaves and clusters of grapes. These motifs recur throughout the piece and are also present on the handles, which have a very distinctive design. These are metal elements shaped like vine branches, from which leaves and small clusters of grapes emerge. The handles appear to be formed from sections of these branches, tied together with thin cords.

This rustic and naturalistic design contrasts sharply with that of the vase, which is classically inspired. The central section features the piece's most intricate decoration, with an oval-shaped motif engraved in low relief on the metal. It depicts a charming scene in which we can make out a pair of birds accompanied by their chicks, perched on the branches of a vine. The motif is rendered with great vitality and attention to detail, making the vase a highly decorative piece.
