Beautiful Chinese brush holder, a highly aesthetic and very old piece. It is made of hand-carved bamboo and originates from China, having been crafted in the 19th century. Despite its age, the container is in good condition, with no broken parts or noticeable stains. One of the most interesting features of this piece is that it is crafted from a single piece of bamboo, which the artisan hollowed out and patiently shaped to create this beautiful item. The container is decorated across its entire surface, though the front features the greatest abundance of carved motifs.

In this area, we can see several scenes, all framed by a backdrop of the classic trees and pavilions that are often part of Oriental decoration. The carvings are executed using the sunken relief technique, displaying great depth that makes them even more appealing. At the top, we can make out three figures, one of whom is seated at a table, while at the base of the jar there are two scenes. The scene on the left shows four figures engrossed in a board game, while on the right we can see two more figures, in this case seated inside a charming pavilion.

All the figures are male and are dressed in traditional Chinese clothing. The landscape surrounding them consists of a profusion of lush trees, architectural elements, and decorative carvings. As the pot is turned, the carved motifs gradually lose depth until they become fine lines, eventually disappearing at the center of the back. In addition to this beautiful decoration, the piece is also enhanced by the wood's lovely original color and the patina that years of use have left on it.
