Fine Set of Weights for a Precision Scale on a Mahogany Base. Spain, 1930s
Beautiful set of gilt brass weights for precision or pharmacy scales. It consists of nine weights, in very good condition, with the weight of each piece engraved on the top. The weights are stored in a solid wood base, with blind holes drilled into its top surface to hold each piece. The weights range in value from 100 gr to just 1 gr for the smallest piece. The metal is smooth, with no visible dents or damage, displaying an attractive patina created by the passage of time and use. The base on which the weights are arranged is crafted from a block of solid mahogany. The wood is very well preserved and boasts a rich reddish-brown color, enhanced by the attractive black grain characteristic of mahogany.
With great finesse and precision, this delicate set of weights from the 1930s will be the perfect addition to a fine collection of scientific antiques.
