Antique Bakelite Medical Stethoscope. Made in the 19th Century

Antique detachable stethoscope, made in the 19th century and in good condition. This curious piece is made of brown Bakelite and has survived to the present day in good condition. We can only see a small notch at the joint between the rod and the base; however, this detail does not prevent the two parts from fitting together perfectly. The stethoscope consists of two parts: the round base, whose wider surface is a significantly darker color, and the tube that inserts into it. Using this instrument is simple: when both parts are connected, the wide base rests on the patients chest. The doctor simply needs to place their ear against the end of the tube to hear any sounds.

This stethoscope is a charming antique that collectors of unique items will undoubtedly appreciate.
