Brass Telescope on a Wooden Tripod. 1920s. In Good Condition.

This beautiful telescope from the 1920s is complemented by a complete five-legged tripod, made of wood with brass fittings and trim. This telescope works perfectly, just like the first day, offering a sharp and clear view of distant objects. The lenses are clean, and the telescope's tubes slide smoothly, functioning perfectly.

The brass has developed a beautiful patina from use and the passage of time, which enhances the instrument's beauty and authenticity. Otherwise, it is in very good condition. The five-legged tripod is also very attractive. The legs are made of wood and are slightly warped due to the passage of time. Of particular note is the attractive assembly of the parts using brass fittings with screws that allow for height adjustment. To prevent the tripod from opening fully, these fittings are connected to one another by a thin gold-plated chain. The legs are also topped with screwed-on brass fittings to securely fasten the assembly, while the upper section features a beautiful, polished and shiny mechanism that allows them to be attached to the telescope.

The original varnish covering the wood is somewhat worn, but it can easily be restored with a simple restoration. The wood is in very good condition, with no signs of woodworm or serious damage. Both the tripod and the telescope possess the charm of antique precision optical instruments, which have retained their beauty and functionality to this day. This telescope will look perfect in an elegant living room, placed in front of a large window from which to gaze at distant landscapes.

Dimensions: 1700 mm high (with tripod) x 1000 mm long (extended).
