Charming antique stereoscopic viewer with 75 stereoscopic views, in a period case. This curious and nostalgic item was manufactured circa 1920 and is in very good condition, both aesthetically and functionally. The viewer is made entirely of mahogany and is a beautiful piece designed for viewing stereoscopic plates. The wood is in excellent condition: the visor is protected by a beautiful glossy varnish, original to the period and restored. The folding handle on the underside, used to hold the viewer while in use, is attached by a brass hinge, which is also in good condition. The viewer comes with 75 antique stereoscopic views printed on cardboard, with descriptions of the images and the publishers signature printed in the margins. The entire set is stored in its original case, an attractive blue velvet-lined box. The lining is somewhat worn, but it still retains its vibrant, rich color. Inside, the case is lined with paper and remains in good condition.
