This elegant wall barometer is a very special piece, both because of the prestige of the brand that manufactured it and because of its age and excellent working condition. It is a 1900 model manufactured by Fattorini & Sons in Bradford, England. The barometer features a hand-carved solid oak case and is in excellent condition. The wood is polished and smooth, with all its moldings and carvings in good condition, and the dial is smooth and clear with no obvious damage. The device's mechanism works very well, making it as decorative as it is functional.

At the bottom of the dial, the manufacturer's name is printed in black capital letters: FATTORINI & SONS. BRADFORD. This name refers to the company founded by Antonio Fattorini in 1831 in the city of Harrogate. In 1850, Fattorini opened a store in Bradford with two of his sons, adopting the name that appears on this barometer. The firm began as a jewelry and silverware business (it is famous for designing the FA Cup trophy for the English professional soccer league) but later also entered the watchmaking business. In 1883, they launched the first chess clock, consisting of two connected pendulum models. Fattorini & Sons closed its doors in 2012.

The case of this barometer, made of solid oak, is lavishly decorated with hand-carved details. The motifs are abstract and decorative, classically inspired and symmetrically arranged. At the top, the barometer is crowned by an eye-catching finial featuring a central semicircle flanked by two knobs. Below the finial, the circular dial occupies a large portion of the design: it is white with black symbols and is surrounded by a gold-plated brass ring. At the top, we can see various English words describing weather conditions: stormy, rainy, changeable, pleasant, and very dry. There are also adjectives describing humidity levels and a numerical scale. The barometer features a straight black pointer, and in the center of the dial there is a circular opening that allows a view of part of the mechanism.
