This is a Schatz barometer, manufactured in England by a brand renowned for its prestige in the field of timepieces and marine instruments. At the top of the dial, we can see the manufacturer's signature, "Schatz." This brand belongs to the company founded in 1881 by watchmaker August Schatz in Germany's Black Forest. Ten years after its founding, the firm became the official supplier to Grand Duke Frederick of Baden. Over the years, the company specialized in clocks and marine instruments. Schatz instruments became very popular in Scandinavia in the 1960s; in 2012, production was permanently transferred to the company Delite, located near Copenhagen, which had been importing these instruments for years.
