A beautiful set of chalice and paten in solid silver, made in France in the 19th century. Both pieces are very well preserved and come in an original period case. The chalice features an elegant and understated design, with gold-plated silver accents that enhance its beauty. The chalice's design is uniquely elegant, displaying a simple style with great decorative power. The base is decorated with a grid-like background against which a series of symmetrical petals unfolds, emerging from the stem. The interior of each petal features a floral motif topped with a shape resembling a fleur-de-lis, except for one, which is decorated with a Latin cross. The stem features two knops: a smaller lower one and the main one, engraved with grid and plant motifs. Above it, the base of the cup repeats the motif found on the base of the chalice: an interlacing of petals with plant decoration and shapes inspired by the fleur-de-lis. The cup is smooth and made of gilded silver.

The paten's sole decoration is a subtle Greek cross within a circle, both engraved in the center. Both this piece and the chalice bear two hallmarks: one featuring the head of Minerva (indicating its French origin) and the other belonging to the silversmith. The chalice bears hallmarks on both the cup and the base. The set is presented in a period case, which has helped ensure that both items have survived in excellent condition and lends undeniable charm to this beautiful antique.
