This elegant set of silver chalice and paten is of French origin, a very old piece dating from the 19th century. Both pieces bear hallmarks attesting to their quality and origin. The set comes in its original case with a key, designed for storage and transport. The paten and the chalice bowl are made of solid silver, and both pieces have survived in very good condition. The design of this set for the celebration of the Eucharist exudes classicism and simplicity, making it a piece of great decorative beauty. The case is also well-preserved, and the lock works perfectly.

The chalice has a base and stem made of gilded metal, while the bowl is of hallmarked solid silver. It bears two hallmarks, located on the exterior near the rim. The cup is smooth, without any ornamentation, and is gilded on the inside. The base features simple decoration with classical, plant-inspired motifs and a Latin cross, and is also engraved with a series of leaves that rise toward the stem connecting it to the cup. The knop between the cup and the base features similar decoration. Between the main knop and the base is another, narrower and simpler knop, decorated with simple moldings and matching the section that connects the main knop to the cup. On its underside, the base of the chalice bears an engraved stamp with the inscription BIAIS AINE & CIE. - PARIS. Furthermore, the paten is also made of solid silver and features, as its sole decoration, a simple Greek cross in the center. It displays the same hallmarks as the chalice's cup.

As mentioned, both pieces are stored in an original rectangular case, lined on the outside with black faux leather. The interior is lined with red velvet. The case retains its metal clasps and original handle, as well as the key that operates the lock.
