Stunning Early 20th-Century Spanish Bronze Tabernacle. In Excellent Condition

A significant, large, and beautiful Spanish bronze tabernacle, magnificently preserved and with a striking presence. This piece of sacred art was created in the first third of the 20th century and stands out for its size and beautiful ornamentation. The tabernacle is made of bronze with silver-plated bronze details and retains all its parts, with the exception of the cross that crowns its top. The piece is displayed in all its splendor.

The front of the tabernacle is architecturally inspired, resembling a façade whose entrance corresponds to the door that houses the Sacred Host. The piece retains its lock and key, which function perfectly, as well as the rod located inside the tabernacle used to hang a small curtain that conceals and protects the Blessed Sacrament beyond the outer door. The front, richly adorned with religious motifs, is very elegant and well-balanced. Four square pilasters are arranged on either side of the tabernacle, two on each side of the door: atop two of them stand beautiful silver angels, while the other two are crowned by delicate bronze vases.

The angels have their wings spread and are depicted in a posture of prayer. They are two figures of exceptional beauty and craftsmanship that command the viewer's attention. Between them and above the door, the figures of two other angels are engraved in relief on the bronze; they are depicted flying while carrying a crown over the compartment that houses the Sacred Host. The door itself is also a work of art, featuring a relief depicting the Chalice and the Consecrated Host as the Light of the World. A spout extends from the base of the chalice, pouring into a shell from which two beautiful, symmetrical deer drink.

This monumental tabernacle is a masterpiece of art and ornamentation that will stand out wherever it is placed. Its balanced proportions and meticulous details make it an exceptional piece.
