Antique Solid Silver Magnifying Glass with Hallmarks. Well-Preserved. England, 1907
A beautiful antique magnifying glass made of hand-engraved solid silver, with its original magnifying lens and in excellent condition. The magnifying glass was manufactured in Sheffield, England, in 1907 and has been preserved in excellent condition. The silver bears several hallmarks attesting to its quality and origin. Thanks to these marks, we can determine where the magnifying glass was made and in what year. The silversmiths mark, with the initials RJM, is also present. The handle of the magnifying glass is lavishly engraved with a beautiful floral motif: the design features a fluted surface partially encircled by carved leaves that curve at the ends. This decoration is closely associated with the Art Nouveau style, which was at its peak at the time the magnifying glass was made.
Beautiful and functional, this antique solid silver magnifying glass will stand out on any study or office desk.
