Great Cross of the Order of Saint Hermenegildo: plate, pendant and band from the time of the Spanish king Alphonse 13th, awarded circa 1915 to General Manuel Manso Rozas and in good condition. All the pieces are original and remain finely preserved; we can only appreciate a very small flaw at the back side of the pendant. They are made of gilt and white silver with white, blue, gold and turquoise enamel. Both pieces are shaped as a cross with white arms and an inner circle in two shades of blue. The circle contains the figure of a soldier riding a horse. The figure is framed by an inscription reading PREMIO A LA CONSTANCIA MILITAR (In reward of military constancy). The pendant has a royal crown at the top, with a ring to hang it from the band. At the back of this piece we can see the inscription F VII. Last but not least, the band is made of beige and fuchsia silk moiré and remains in amazing condition. This medal, the Great Cross of the Order of Saint Hermenegild (plate, pendant and band) is worthy of inclusion in the best collection of items related to Spanish military history. Dimensions: Plate: 3.54 in / 90 mm. Pendant: 1.41 in / 36 mm.
