Duward Watches - History The history of the Duward brand starts in 1835, when Carlos Vendrell Paradís opens a watchmaking business in Sans, Barcelona. During the 19th century the company grows under the management of his son, Jaime Vendrell, and then under his grandson Carlos Vendrell. In the early 20th century Carlos aims to gain the Spanish market and founds a new company called DERSA. In 1930 he creates their own brand, Duward, which stood out for the quality of their watches and is internationally recognized. Carlos Vendrell dies in 1968, and in 1970 his sons assume the companys management: Luis Vendrell is in charge of the shops and Jorge Vendrell rules the brand Duward. Currently Jorge Vendrell is the president of the company and works to renew and improve the business together with his sons.
