Authentic Spanish Civil War medal group with four medals awarded during the time of Francisco Franco. This is an important military distinctive with remarkable medals, all of them in very good condition. The rack and the medals are made of golden metal the medals are decorated with a fine enameled finish in different colors and preserving their original glow. The enamel is very well preserved except for a tiny dent in the bottom right corner of the last cross, scarcely perceptible to the naked eye. The four medals that hang from the rack are (left to right): - Military Merit Cross, 1st Class, Red Distinctive - Civil War Victory Medal - Military Merit cross, 1st Class, White Distinctive, with Retirement Pension - Military Merit Cross, 1st Class, White Distinctive The Military Merit Cross, 1st Class, Red Distinctive was awarded to war-time combatants; this was a prestigious and coveted medal. The Civil War Victory Medal was awarded after the victory to every combatant of Francos army that took part in the content. The Military Merit Cross, White Distinctive was similar to the one stated before, though awarded in peace time. The White Cross with Retirement Pension included a pension for the awarded. The medals are decorated with White, blue and red enamel, except for the Civil War Victory Medal. This one is made of iron and golden metal and bears the embossed symbols of Francos regime and the mottos Una, Grande y Libre and Arriba España (One, Great and Free and For Spain). On the other hand, the silk ribbons from which the medals hang are the original ones.
