This fine military award is a Medal of Constancy in Service for Sub-Officers, awarded in Spain in the 1960-70s. The medal is in very good condition. This award consists of a bronze Greek cross with a blue circle in the center containing a red Cross of Santiago. The circle is surrounded by a golden fringe with the inscription CONSTANCIA MILITAR SUBOFICIAL (Military Constancy Sub-Officer). The cross itself is enameled in white and has a golden horizontal stripe in each arm. The top arm bears the imperial crown on top with a ring that connects the medal with the ribbon, white and with a central golden vertical stripe. This medal was created on December 26th, 1958 to reward the constancy shown by sub-officers and others in service. In 1977 the imperial crown was changed by the royal one. In 2001 the medals design was substituted by a newer one.Measurements: Width: 1.6 in/4.3 cm. Height (with crown): 2.1 in/5.5 cm. Height (without crown): 1.6 in/4.3 cm.
