Commander medal of the Order of the Crown of Yugoslavia, with its original box. It was issued by King Alexander I of Yugoslavia, that is why its core displays the royal crown in gold and two-coloured enamel, in red and blue, upon a background in white. It is surrounded by a golden ring that is located in the center of a crossbar finished in white enamel with a green laurel that ties arms. At the top, it offers an articulated rim, in green enamel, depicting a trophy of laurel. It is in most perfect conditions with the added value of preserving its original blue box untouched in whose lid the identification of the type of medal is enhanced: "Jugoslovenska Krün III". The medal rests inside the box on a beautiful marine velvet cloth. The back cover identifies the jeweler: "Huguenin & Co. Medalleurs Frertes. Le Locle (Suisse). The ribbon keeps the same colour as the box that is protecting and it is in undeniable good condition. The fact that this medal was granted meant that the citizens had been making merits in order to intend national unity or towards the Kingdom or the welfare in public service, it also could be granted to foreigners who had helped the country. The Order of Yugoslav Crown was superior to the Order of St. Sava. King Alexander I of Yugoslavia established the Order of the Crown of Yugoslavia on April 5, 1930, in order to commemorate the changing of the name of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes into the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. He became king in 1921. During a political crisis in 1929 the strong separatist movements within the country forced the king to suspend the Constitution and later, he stablished a dictatorship with the purpose of emphasizing on nacional unity, giving place as a result, to the knew nation name: Yugoslavia.
